Blackrock GAA

• Blackrock GAA converted a grass area at the rear of their existing hurling wall into a 3g synthetic 64m X 34m Astro Turf Playing Pitch.
• The project included a 60mm dual fibre synthetic grass & shock-pad, 2.4m high
• JNC Double-beam Fencing with overhead netting. All groundworks and drainage were completed by JNC’s specialist team.
• A 3m high dividing net was installed to split the pitch into 2 smaller playing areas thereby generating rental income for the club.
• Recess areas were also installed in the fence line which neatly house the net when retracted.

Dr. Morris Park, Thurles

• JNC Premier Pitches were delighted to win the contract for the installation of an new all weather playing pitch at Dr. Morris’ Park, Thurles.
• Installation included fencing, netting, gates, floodlight bases, groundworks and drainage.
• Fitting of four new artificial goalmouths to the existing natural playing pitches.
• Site was adjacent to an existing all weather facility, three existing grass pitches, dressing rooms and facilities needed to stay functioning during the build.
• The grounds were also in use during the Munster Hurling and Football championship games in the adjoining Semple Stadium.
• JNC Premier Pitches employs a full-time in house Health & Safety Manager and a dedicated Contracts Manager and so this aspect of the project was completed first. Site safety for both club members, the public, GAA fans and all staff was paramount.

Kilmallock GAA

At Killmallock, the old carpet was removed using a specialist turf muncher machine which is the only one of its kind being used for refurbishment projects in Ireland. (Click here to view the Turf Muncher in action)

The turf muncher allows the old carpet to be removed without damaging the existing base. Sand and rubber infill is transferred into tonne bags and neatly rolls the carpet into 2m wide rolls which can then be recycled and monetised. JNC Premier Pitches are the only company in Ireland using this method when it comes to astro pitch refurbishment projects.

Project Details / Description of work:

• JNC Double beam panel 1.2m high rebound used to replace old existing Wisa board.
• 1.2m high rebound replacement panels with new 2.6m high netting replacement.

Pembroke Wanderer’s Hockey Club Dublin

JNC Premier Pitches in conjunction with Astro Turf Europe were delighted to win the contract for the removal of the old playing surface and installation of a new, “AstroTurf Hockey Classic System”.

The first choice since 1976 and still the fastest hockey surface in the world. Short passes or long shots; controlling the ball is easy. Thanks to the non-directional characteristic of the yarn the ball roll will be unrevealed and this high predictability results in a very fast hockey game.

System Specifications:

• Surface: AstroTurf Hockey Classic
• Sub base: 15 mm e-layer
• New In-situ Shockpad
• The site was adjacent to an existing club house, existing grass pitches, dressing rooms and car park and these facilities needed to stay functioning during the refit. JNC Premier Pitches has a full time in house Health & Safety Manager and a dedicated Contracts Manager in Lloyd Adams as site safety for Club members, the public, and our staff was essential.

JNC Premier Pitches converted the clubs existing hurling wall area into a 1,600m2 astro turf playing pitch.
This project was built with a shock-pad system, 2.4m high fencing with overhead netting and a floodlight system producing a LUX level in excess of 450 all installed by JNC specialist teams.

The synthetic carpet was provided by our partners ACT Global and produced a top quality project.

Straffan GAA, Co. Kildare

Straffan GAA Co. Kildare located beside the world renowned K-Club Golf & Leisure Resort.

The project incorporated an 80 x 50m GAA 3G Astro Turf Pitch, groundworks, kerbing, floodlighting and the installation of footpaths all completed by JNC Premier Pitches. Additional ducting was installed in the access gates so they could be automated at a later date.

JNC Premier Pitches also installed divider nets so the pitch could be split into 3 small soccer pitches thereby creating an income stream for the club going forward. The divider nets can be retracted into a recess in the fence line and an 80 x 50m playing pitch becomes playable.
