Fethard GAA

JNC Premier Pitches is pleased to have delivered a high-quality all-weather synthetic grass pitch for Fethard GAA, providing a state-of-the-art facility designed for year-round use. The project was carried out adjacent to the club’s existing grass pitch, dressing rooms, handball alley, and tennis courts, all of which remained operational throughout the construction period.

With safety as a priority, our in-house Health & Safety Manager ensured that site protocols were implemented from the outset, safeguarding club members, the public, and our team throughout the project.

Project Scope and Key Features

  • JNC Double Beam Panel Fencing – 2.4 metres high with cranked extensions and bespoke corners
  • Gates & Ball-Stop Netting – Single and double access gates to match fencing, along with two 48m x 30m ball-stop netting systems
  • Site Optimization – Demolition of the existing wall and relocation of the 13-metre-high ball-stop nets to expand the pitch footprint
  • Structural Enhancements – Installation of a shuttered, reinforced mass concrete retaining wall to ensure long-term stability and prevent subsidence
  • Precision Groundworks – Full site survey, laser-guided surface preparation, drainage, and surface dressing
  • Lighting & Access Infrastructure – Installation of floodlights, all associated ducting and cabling, kerbing, and a pedestrian access ramp
  • Synthetic Grass Installation – High-performance artificial turf laid and professionally infilled with Silica Sand and SBR rubber using the German-engineered SMG Sandmatic system for a consistent, high-quality playing surface

“In 2016 Fethard GAA set out ambitious plans to install a new all-weather facility to progress the vision of the club and its members, it wasn’t going to be easy as the existing site was tight with tennis courts, handball alleys and changing rooms all contained in the area that was chosen. JNC Premier Pitches won the tender process and from the first minute the project ran like clockwork. Premier Pitches have their own in-house Health and Safety Manager, and this was a huge plus because on a site that needed to be operational for the duration of the build the safety of our players and members was paramount. JNC Premier Pitches completed the full contract which included moving existing ball stops and installing a retaining wall between the new artificial pitch and the existing natural pitch. Everything from the ground works, drainage, fencing, floodlighting, access ramps, as well as the pitch installation was carried out to the highest standard and we are delighted with the quality of playing surface and would highly recommend JNC Premier Pitches to any club.”
