Holycross Ballycahill GAA, a club steeped in tradition and success, has taken a major step forward in player development with the installation of a top-class 2,500m² all-weather astro turf facility. Designed to meet the needs of hurlers and footballers at every level, this new pitch ensures year-round training, regardless of the elements.
One of the standout features of this project is the incorporation of precast rebound wall panels into the fence line. These 1.2m high precast hurling wall panels provide players with an unrivaled training advantage, allowing for fast-paced drills, first touch refinement, and reaction-speed development. Unlike traditional block-built walls, precast panels offer a uniform, high-performance surface that enhances ball return and durability while seamlessly blending into the pitch design.
The facility also includes recessed goals, optimizing the full playing area while maintaining a safe and practical training environment. Every aspect of the project has been carefully planned to maximize efficiency and performance for Holycross Ballycahill GAA’s players, from underage to senior level.
This state-of-the-art development underscores the club’s commitment to excellence in coaching, player development, and infrastructure. With this world-class astro turf facility now in place, Holycross Ballycahill GAA is set to continue its proud tradition of nurturing the next generation of hurlers and footballers in Tipperary.
